Trolley Type

Trolley Type Operators feature the motor unit mounted between, above and to the rear of the “L-rail” horizontal tracks. The trolley drive provides continuous contact with the door and is recommended for application wherever possible. This is the only operator suitable for low headroom applications. Multiple trolleys can be used for wider doors.

Belt Drive vs. Gear Reduced

Belt Driven Operators utilize belt reduction (Models ATS, MT, T, APT, MJ, J, MH, and HT). Gear Reduced Operators incorporate a heavy-duty worm gear-in-oil-bath speed reducer. As a general rule, a medium-duty operator is not recommended for applications requiring more than 50 cycles per day.

An industrial belt drive operator should be used in applications with cycles up to 80–90 per day. High cycle modifications and/or gearhead operators should be used for applications requiring cycles in excess of 90 per day.

An automated vehicular door system includes several components, all of which must be selected in concert with each other and with the requirements of the job if it is to be successful. In addition to the door itself, a system consists of a door operator, entry control, equipment to interface with the operator, and safety equipment to protect people and property from hazards of an electrically powered door.
